Tenda Products

Here is a selection of the main Tenda connectivity products on Amazon. Their product range is not as big as some other brands but some of their models are very cheap and effective. They are a good no nonsense powerline adapter brand.

Powerline Adapters

The Tenda P200 is a no nonsense nano powerline adapter with one ethernet port offering transfer speeds of up to 200 mbps. This product does not have a passthrough. AV Homeplug compliant and plug and play product.

The Tenda PH3 is their gigabit powerline adapter and is our recommended model as it is often only slightly more expensive than the P200 on most stores but is capable of 1000 mbps transfer speeds over it’s ethernet port. Perfect for online gaming and HD streaming.

The Tenda PH6 is pretty much the same as the PH3 above except it has a passthrough integrated plug socket so you won’t lost the socket you are using it for. One ethernet port, 1000mpbs maximum transfer speed.

Wireless Powerline Adapters and Wifi Boosters

Here are some of their products with wifi capability. Only the PH5 model actually comes as a proper kit with two powerline adapters; the other model is a single plug booster that “catches” and boosts the existing signal. As such they may not deliver a connection quite as solid as a full powerline adapter kit which uses the electrical wiring to send data and actually produces a cloned wireless access point at the receiving end.

The Tenda A9 N300 is their cheapest entry level single plug wifi booster. It plugs into a wall on its own and captures and boosts the wifi signal to other parts of the house. Maximum potential transfer speeds of 300 mbps, though actual speeds will vary over wifi. Works with all routers.

The Tenda PH5 is a more advanced full wireless powerline adapter kit which has two ethernet ports and a cloned wifi access point at the receiving end. Transfer speeds of 1000mbps over ethernet ports and 300mpbs over 2.4GHz wireless band. An excellent product for people needing wired and wireless connections from their adapter.

Wifi Mesh Systems

Mesh Systems consist of a set of boxes or receivers that you place round the house which pick up and amplify the existing wifi signal from your router to increase coverage across the home. They are more expensive than wifi boosters but usually more effective at spreading wifi to all parts of the home. There are different models available depending on the size of your house. Let’s look at some of Tenda’s Mesh kits.

The Tenda Nova MW3-2 Kit is a set of 2 mesh boxes that you place around the home at suitable points to boost wifi coverage to that area of the house. They boost and extend the existing signal from your router. This set is recommended for 2500 square foot houses.

The Tenda Nova MW3 Kit is pretty similar to the above model except it has 3 booster boxes so it can be used in larger homes of around 3500 square feet. It has two ethernet ports on each box for wired connections and can handle gigabit speeds.

The Tenda Nova MW6-3 is a more advanced 3 box mesh system with wider coverage – it can cover larger homes up to 6000 square foot, with each node covering 2000sq ft. Also comes with two gigabit ethernet ports.
