Powerline Adapter Models

Here is your main selection of TP Link Powerline Adapters. Use one of these if you are an online gamer or stream a lot of HD videos and need a strong connection with good download speed and low latency or lag. Since they require a wired ethernet connection at both ends they deliver a very solid connection but they are best to use with static devices that you do not plan to carry or move around the room.

Standard AV600 Powerlines – up to 600 megabits per second transfer rate

These powerlines are the standard ones in the TP Link range, with a transfer rate of up to 600 megabits per second (75 megabytes per second). This should be fine for most users but people who want an even higher data transfer rate for multiple users or lots of high bandwidth activity, check out the Gigabit Powerlines section below this one.

TP Link TL-PA 4010 Kit Nano Powerline Adapter

The TP Link TL-PA4010 Starter Pack. A no frills Powerline Adapter with just one ethernet port and no Passthrough plug, hence why the cheapest Powerline Adapter in their range. Great if you need it for just one device and don’t need the plug socket you use for it for anything else. Review Here

TP Link TL-PA4016P Kit Powerline Adapter
TP Link TL-PA4016P Kit Powerline Adapter

The TP Link TL-PA4016PKIT Powerline with Passthrough is a slightly more expensive adapter as it has a passthrough plug built in so you don’t lose the socket you are using it for, but be aware though that the UK version of this adapter only has a Passthrough in the receiving plug where the device will be used and not at the router end; the closest US version of this adapter on Amazon has the bonus of having Passthrough on both plugs.

TP Link TL-PA4020P Kit Powerline Adapter with Passthrough
TP Link TL-PA4020P Kit Powerline Adapter with Passthrough

The TP Link TL-PA4020 Powerline 2 Ports with Passthrough is similar to the second one except it has Passthrough on both plugs and two ethernet ports instead of one so two devices can be used at the receiving end. Slightly more expensive but go for this one if you’ve got two devices in a room that need a high quality internet connection and/or need Passthrough at both ends. US and EU versions of this adapter are available and have exactly the same features.

Gigabit Powerlines – up to 1000 megabits per second transfer rate

These Powerline Adapters are the more advanced and expensive ones in this range as they have a higher data transfer rate of up to 1 gigabit per second (1000 megabits per second or 125 megabytes per second). Go for one of these if you really want a high transfer rate for lots of high bandwidth activites like 4K or 3D video streaming or multiple online gaming connections.

Again these models escalate in logical order in terms of price, depending on how many ethernet ports and passthrough sockets they have. All links are affiliate links & geo-optimised again and should a superior product in the range on Amazon be cheaper than the advertised product, we have tried to redirect you to the superior product instead so you get best value for money.
