These devices either boost the wifi signal to other rooms in the house or copy or “clone” the wifi signal and effectively create a new wifi access point at the receiving end. These adapters are better for those people that prefer wireless connections either because they don’t like wires trailing around, are planning to use multiple devices per room or they want to still be able to carry devices like laptops around in their room without ethernet cables restricting them. All of these listed products actually contain at least one ethernet port as well so they are versatile pieces of kit that you can use according to your individual needs.
Wiress Powerline Adapters/Wifi Boosters deliver a wired internet connection but also a cloned wireless access point as well to the receiving room.

The TP Link N300 Universal Range Extender and Wifi Booster consists of one plug that you pair up with your router to catch the wifi signal, and once complete you can then take this plug to any other room in the house where you need it and it provides a boosted wifi signal. This adapter also contains an ethernet port and is a great cheap option if you want a stronger signal around the house and don’t mind taking the plug around with you where you need it. The US version of this is the AC750

The TP Link TL-WPA4220KIT 2 Port Powerline Adapter with Wifi Booster has more functionality, with two ethernet ports to connect devices to as well as a wifi booster, where the adapter effectively “clones” or copies the wifi signal of your main router so you have a strong wifi access point as well as the ethernet ports. Perfect for rooms with multiple devices but note this adapter again doesn’t have a Passthrough plug socket. See below for an adapter with the same features but a Passthrough plug socket as well.
